What kind of Fire Systems should be installed in an industrial building?
This blog will cover some safety guidelines, fire safety and industrial equipment and precautions to be taken care to protect people from fire accidents.
A major fire can bring a business to a halt and fires are mostly caused by people, either through their actions, which may be accidental or deliberate and malicious or through their failure to take appropriate precautions such as, for example, the regular inspection, maintenance and repair of defective equipment.
A good fire safety system is worth investing which keeps a building and its people safe from any kind of fire damages.
Take a look at some of the prevention essentials for any structure:
13 HF PK Extinguishers designed to deliver outstanding performance. Buckeye high flow extinguishers are suitable for industrial applications, especially where hazards such as pressurized flammable liquids, pressurized gas, or three-dimensional fires exist. These are rugged steel cylinders, plated brass valves, and baked-on polyester epoxy topcoat. Their operating temperature is -65°F to 120°Fand operating pressure 195 psi.
The Scott Safety C420 plus PAPR can be used for CBRN and non-CBRN applications. The blower gives a cooling impact that extends user wear times in humid situations and long-term operations such as rescue or decontamination. It also keeps the face piece from fogging.
These are light weight and are ideal for fire departments, law enforcement and federal first responders.
AIR-PAK 75 SCBA
The AIR-PAK 75 SCBA has been the main SCBA utilized by industrial fire-fighters, municipal since 2007. It gives assurance to fire-fighters in their life-saving equipment and enables them to focus on the critical job. It also gives fire-fighters an easy-to-utilize and straightforward SCBA that requires negligible preparing, increments operational efficiencies and diminishes training costs.
Storz security lock is made from stainless steel, which can be installed on Storz fitting to safely secure and lock caps. It protects fire hydrant waterways, use to tag/lockout “out of service hydrants, deter theft of caps, secure temporary or emergency hose lines and valves, prevent entry of obstructions to fire sprinkler systems connections.
Williams Double-5 Industrial Fire Hose
It is woven with 100 percent filament polyester for pressure performance and durability. It is a unique lightweight hose. It is capable of significant water flow at higher pressures with minimal friction loss. It provides provide water repellency, abrasion, oil, and chemical resistance.
Flange x Groove is a good way to designate appropriate hookup. It is made from carbon steel and used in fire fighting, industrial applications, wastewater & water management.
Bottom Line:
Fires are unavoidable even if we have all the essential safety precautions. Advancement in technology increases the chances of effective firefighting with flexible strategies and equipment. Keep an eye out at SOS safety International Inc. for effective and latest fire safety products to keep yourself and others safe from fire.

AWG offers adjustable foam nozzles to enable rapid switching between medium and heavy foam for targeted application during operation.
These units consist of a jet head with a switching element and two concentric pipes.
The inner pipe generated heavy foam while the outer pipe produces medium foam.
The switching element directs the pre-mixed extinguishing fluid to either the inner or outer pipe. Swirl jets and conversion screens are fitted in accordance with the designs of our heavy and medium foam nozzles.
Medium Expansion Foam Nozzle
Air aspirating stainless steel tube with an expansion ratio of 60:1. Excellent for making a foam blanket over hazardous spills. Includes carrying handle and shut off. Flows 60, 95 and 125 GPM at 100 PSI. The 60 and 95 GPM have a 1.5” connection and the 125 GPM has a 2.5” connection.
Description
Materials:
- Ball valve and jet made from aluminium alloy.
- Conversion screens and pipe made from stainless steel.
- Protection ring and handle made from rubber.
- Medium foam nozzles are available with all international couplings as well as without couplings and/or shut-off.
DIN 14493 defines medium foam as a 20 to 200 factor expansion ratio depending on the foam agent used. The high foam coefficient makes it possible to cover areas and flood small rooms quickly., in particular when dealing with class A and B fires.
AWG medium foam nozzles are small and easy to use for mobile application in conjunction with our Z2, Z4 and Z8 inductors.
Heavy (low expansion) Foam Nozzles

Nozzle used for making air aspirated low expansion foam of 15:1, while providing long reach for added safety. Flow rates of 60, 90, and 125 GPM @ 100 PSI. Only a quarter turn to shut off and comes with a carrying handle.
The 60 and 95 GPM have a 1.5” connection and the 125 GPM has a 2.5” connection.
Description
Water, foam agent and air in a foamed, light density mixture produces an excellent flame-retardant effect.
- The water component cools down the surface of the fire.
- The foam blanket prevents oxygen getting to the burning material
- Preventative application of foam to substances at risk of fire prevents them catching fire.
Foam Eductors
Foam Eductors is excellent for use in plants, portable pumps or other low water pressure applications. Variable concentrate settings from 0.5% to 6%.
This light weight inline Foam Eductor operates at low pressure 100 PSI. Excellent for use in plants, portable pumps or other low water pressure applications. Variable concentrate settings from 0.5% to 6%.
Point & Shoot – Rim Seal Protection

The Williams Point & Shoot System includes both an air aspirating foam device designed to be installed on flammable liquid storage tanks for protection against a seal fire, as well as an optional fixed pipe to be used with a monitor and nozzle.
LW9/WSDB Foam Maker with Wind Shield/Discharge Board

The LW9/WSDB Foam Makers are integrated systems providing NFPA 11 “Type II” foam application to the rim seal area of open floating roof tanks. It allows installation without taking the tank out of service. The foam makers are designed to meter foam flow, then gently expand and deliver foam solution directly onto the seal area surface of flammable or combustible liquids.
Foam solution supply piping to the system can either be connected to a “fixed” foam storage and proportioning system, or tied into a dry pipe, “semi-fixed” piping network, which receives and delivers foam solution from a mobile fire apparatus such as a fire truck.
CROSSFIRE MONITOR TOP 2.5″NH (65mm) OUTLET

Description
CROSSFIRE MONITOR TOP 2.5″NH (65mm) OUTLET can be connected to either a portable base or a truck with the adapters on page 70 or a TFT Extend-A-Gun with XL outlet on page 143. The connection is easy, positive, and visually verified. When in use, the release is “locked out” by water pressure. The waterway is a large 3.25″ (83mm) which lets the CROSSFIRE deliver up to 1250 gpm (4500 l/min) with low friction loss. Horizontal rotation is securely locked with a simple lever, and position can be visually confirmed. Only seven (7) turns of the handwheel change the discharge elbow from vertical to the stop elevation. Includes highly visible pressure gauge and built-in automatic drain valve. Standard outlet thread is male 2.5″ NH (65mm).
